Michael Lang, President
Michael founded Cybrains, Inc. in 2001 when the dot com bubble burst and the job market dried up.
Cybrains went somewhat dormant for a while when he left the entrepreneurial world briefly to work for a
start up company in Baltimore where the team there adopted Rails in June 2006 to build a large, integrated
medical research management system. During his time at this company, he served various roles and helped the
company grow around 25 Rails developers. He was fully responsible for the company's IT infrastructure and data center.
Michael has since left Baltimore, returning to Athens, Georgia and pursuing Cybrains full-time again (ironically, in yet another market downturn). He felt he had much to offer not only to his clients, but to those who would come to work for Cybrains.
Michael is attending UGA as a graduate student and pursuing a Masters in Instructional Technology and is an avid tennis and racquetball player. What spare time he have left, he fills up by cooking, playing piano, weight lifting, trail running, bocce, ping pong, and learning more about the Open Source community upon which Linux, Apache, PostgreSQL, etc. are all based on. Lately, Ruby on Rails has gotten a lot of his attention as far as development frameworks go, but he does still do a smattering of Borland(?) Delphi development for those customers still needing solid Windows-based solutions.
Being hearing impaired, Michael heavily relies on email and instant messenger and texting on the cell phone as primary means of long-distance communication. He speaks excellent English and communicates very well face-to-face. Michael may be reached via any of the various avenues:
